Det ville være interessant å ha en veiledet meditasjon på norsk som brukte som modell temaene i bahai bønnene, og å “kalle deg selv til regnskap” - og å be Mesteren for ledelse mm.

En labyrint er et redskap for gående meditasjon, ikke alle har sin beste meditasjon når de sitter stille.

 

Meditasjon er ganske abstrakt for barn, men Shogi Effendi beskriver det som å vente på Guds svar på våre bønner. For barn kan det å oppleve bønn med det spesifikke formål å meditere etterpå for å få ideer, være opplysende. Det kan være bønner for muligheten til å tjene andre og Gud… hvilke ideer kommer? Kanskje noen av ideene som barna deler, kan bli en del av neste dags tjeneste prosjekt  (vinter skolens dag 3) Det kan være noe de kan gjøre for foreldrene sine, besteforeldrene eller naboen ved siden av, eller en venn som de ikke har sett siden Covid epidemien begynte… 

 

 

Thich Nhat Hahn har en meditasjon som han deler med barn. Den begynner med at en bjelle inviterer deg til å legge merke til pusten, frisk som en blomst - den kalles for Pebble Meditation (engelsk) Bildet nedenfor er fra denne linken:

Meditation is a bit abstract for kids but Shoghi Effendi describes it as waiting for God to answer your prayers.  For kids to just experience prayer with 

specific purpose and meditate for the ideas.... prayer for the opportunity to serve...what ideas come to mind?  Perhaps some of the ideas they share can

be incorporated into the next day's service projects, which might be something they can do for their parents, grandparents or next door neighbors, 

or a friend that they haven't seen since before COVID...   Almost anything made with love is sure to touch the hearts.  

 

Thich Nhat Hahn also has a meditation he shares with children.  It begins with a bell that calls you to recognize your breath, Fresh as a flower, It is called

“The Greatest Name should be found upon the lips in the first awakening moment of early dawn. It should be fed upon by constant use in daily invocation, in trouble, under opposition, and should be the last word breathed when the head rests upon the pillow at night. It is the name of comfort, protection, happiness, illumination, love and unity.

“I hope that thou mayest become informed of the concealed mystery and recondite symbol of the stone of the Most Great Name … The use of the Greatest Name and dependence upon it, cause the soul to strip itself of the husks of mortality and to step forth freed, reborn, a new creature….”(‘Abdu’l-Bahá: United States Supplement to Bahá’í News, No. 80, p. 2, October 1964)

 

The House of Justice on another occasion has clarified that the Greatest Name is to be used in its original language for the recitation of “Allah-u-Abhá” 95 times a day, as well as for its use in the Long Obligatory Prayer and the Prayer for the Dead. It has also clarified that to translate words such as “Allah-u-Abhá”, “Ya Bahá’u’l-Abhá”, “Mashriqu’l-Adhkár”, or “Haziradu’l-Quds” into one’s native language is not acceptable. One exception to this is the alternative use of the words “Right of God” or their equivalent into other languages while the term “Huqúqu’lláh” gradually becomes a part of Bahá’í vocabulary.

In general, one should bear in mind that all translations are, to some degree, inadequate. For instance, the Beloved Guardian has pointed out in . . . God Passes By, that the word “Bahá” signifies at once the “Glory”, the “Splendour” and the Light” of God; there is no single word in English that can express all these. It is, of course, desireable that there be no loss of meaning through translations; thus it is preferable that certain terms directly related to the Manifestation of God remain in their original form.
